Carissa Ledesma is  a percussionist based in Dallas, Texas. She currently attends the SMU Meadows School of Music where she is finishing her Master’s degree in Percussion Performance. She has performed in various venues such as Carnegie Hall, Miller Outdoor Theater, and the Moores Opera House and with ensembles including the AFA Symphony Orchestra, the Virtuosi of Houston, the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra, and the Meadows School Symphony Orchestra and Percussion Ensemble. She has also attended numerous summer orchestral festivals such as the PRISMA festival, Eastern Music Festival, the Ted Atkatz Percussion Seminar, and the Chautauqua Institute.

Carissa gained her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Houston Moores School of Music, and is certified to teach K-12 in the state of Texas. She has taught both front ensemble and private lessons at several schools in the Houston and DFW metro areas. Carissa intends on continuing her education in pursuit of a Doctorate in Music with a goal of teaching at the collegiate level.

Carissa currently resides in Mansfield, Texas. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, baking sourdough bread, and taking her 4-year-old nephew out for ice cream.
